A passion project to honor Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! I wanted to create an informative way to showcase the diversity in different cultural garments worn for ceremonies and sometimes dance.

Digital Sketches
During the sketch process, I was exploring how I wanted to approach the focus of the format to bring the most engaging access from an audience while providing a good amount of information. This led to sketching portraits, full body poses, and only articles of clothing.
Typography
Futura and Arial Narrow offered an organized appearance to my collection of designs in the AANHPI series. Futura creates enough of a semi-bold to grab one’s attention and Arial Narrow follows along as a great body type to stay legible while large enough to grab attention to the information being shared.

Color
A blue and white color scheme worked best to not overpower the designs of each region’s traditional wear, while at the same time leading the audience to the center of the composition.

Digital Drafts
I drew each figure that would serve as the subject of each informational graphic poster, and through research I gathered pieces of facts on each region's traditional wear. Combining these two created a great design challenge, I want my audience to engage with the information provided and act on my call to action, all because the illustrations caught their attention.
